Browser requirements
To use the online ordering system, your browser needs to support two basic features.
(All the latest major browsers support these features.)
Cookies
Cookies are bits of information stored by your browser on behalf of the web site it is
viewing. Our online system asks your browser to store a session ID to help keep track of
the information you enter during a session. Only the session ID itself is stored on your
machine, and it will be deleted when you close your browser.
Secure (SSL) browsing
To protect your confidential information, our online system requires the use of a
secure, encrypted connection to the server. Normally this works automatically without your
intervention. You may receive a notification that you are requesting a secure page, and
you should see some indication in the browser window that the page is secure (such as a
blue line, an unbroken key icon, a padlock icon, or something similar).
Some older browsers do not support secure SSL connections. If you have such a browser,
try using a newer version.
Netscape Navigator 3.x browsers may give you a warning about this site's Thawte
certificate when trying to connect to a secure page. This happens because Navigator's
information about Thawte reached an expiration date in July 1998. If you encounter the
warning, you have three options:
- Ignore the warning and continue. The warning does not actually affect site operation.
- Use this simple testing
system to test your browser and update its Thawte-related information
- Upgrade you browser or use a different one
